Rick Franklin was recently invited to participate in one of the nation’s foremost higher education conferences to help educate attendees on the intersections of improvisation, music and education.  The event was held by the Online Learning Consortium and included a series of demonstrations of improvisation in music and then participatory improv activities on the topic of online learning.  Rick helped plan the inaugural event in 2017 at OLC Innovate in New Orleans, and then continued on for the second iteration at OLC Innovate 2018 in Nashville.

In the video above, Rick talks to the founder of Whose Design Is It Anyway, Ben Scragg, about the format and purpose of the event.  Below, watch scenes from the Innovation Lab where Rick demonstrates improvisation in the blues.
